Notarial translation

The procedure for translation and notary certification of a document is carried out by a professional translator, whose qualifications are confirmed by the appropriate document. According to Article 81 of Fundamentals of Legislation on Notaries, the signature of the translator of the document shall certified as true by a notary.

A certified translation is required for documents issued outside  the Russian Federation. This procedure makes it valid in Russia. A feature of a notarized translation is that it literally represents the information of the original document. If the document was issued in the Russian Federation and must be submitted abroad, procedures such as apostilization and consular legalization are necessary.

A certified translation cannot be made for all documents — a notary certifies only those documents that fully meet the requirements of the Russian Federation. A document that does not meet the requirements of current legislation cannot be notarized, but we can certify these translations ourselves with the translation bureau’s seal.

The original (a copy is possible) of the document that was translated must be attached to a certified translation.

Certification of a translation with the translation bureau’s seal

A written translation may be certified with the translation bureau’s seal at the customer’s request. In some cases, notary certification of the translation is not required, and certification of translation with the translation bureau’s seal is sufficient. We recommend that you specify whether or not notary certification of the translated documents required, or if  certification of translator’s signature with our translation bureau’s seal is sufficient. The translation bureau’s seal is also sufficient in some cases when the documents cannot be notarized (copies of customs documents, consignment notes and others).
